Dempsey Holder Surf Festival Postponed due to Water Conditions. Now November 7th

Due to record rainfall on September 15th and the subsequent closure of the beach in Imperial Beach we are POSTPONING the 12th Annual Dempsey Holder Ocean Festival until Saturday November 7th, 2015.
We are truly sorry about having to postpone this wonderful event, but we want to make sure everyone has a chance to surf and enjoy clean and pristine ocean water during the Dempsey Surf Contest.
If you cannot make that date please let us know and we can refund your entry fee, but we hope that you will join us in November for a day of classic fall conditions with offshore winds and A-frame peaks on both sides of the Imperial Beach pier!
As you know preventing beach closures in South San Diego County and in Northern Baja is something that WILDCOAST has been working on for some time. Last week we met with officials from the U.S. EPA to discuss the need to take action to improve the management of the Tijuana River. In July we worked quickly to make sure that a Tijuana River sewage diverter pipe was turned on immediately after another unusual summer rainfall. Today we are taking an official of the U.S. State Department to tour the Tijuana River Valley and make the case that we need greater resources to clean up our beaches.
We thank you for your understanding and your
patience. We appreciate your support and as always
Thanks to WildCoast and Josie Hamada for Information!
