This all took place as the League held a party for Jim and the outgoing Board at the American Legion.
Here is a statement release by the new President of the Imperial Beach Girls Softball League:
The Imperial Beach Girls Softball League transferred authority of operations over from the 2014/2015 Board of Directors to the newly elected 2015/2016 Board of Directors. It was a great night. We all bought dinner at the American Legion Post on Palm Avenue, to show appreciation to them for letting us have our Board meetings there. Jim Laccone expressed how thankful he was while serving as President and thanked the Board of Directors for all their hard work. Chad Harbin said a few words about Jim also." Not sure if anyone realizes but Jim was the person who made IBGSB a Non Profit Organization." He was given many challenges from having little money in the General Account to where it is now is very remarkable. To most recently working with the City and being part of the contact negotiations. Jim stepped down as President last night but is staying on the Board of Directors as Treasure. Chad Harbin was approved by the Board of Directors to be Vice President and will be assisting newly elected President Matthew McCoy
President, Imperial Beach Girls Softball
I had a chance to speak with Matt recently he mentioned to me was that he hopes to build a good relationship with the girls softball coaches in the high school which could offer many benefits to both sides! He also look forward to continue to working with the City staff., Boys and Girls Club and Imperial Beach Little League.
Matt McCoy is an amazing person, not only is he serving as President of the Imperial Beach Girls Softball but he is also a member of the Sports Park Committee and a member of the IB Posse which was honored by the mayor in February in the Mayor's State of IB & Awards Night. We are truly blessed to have someone like Matt living in Imperial Beach.
Also, as all woman know, behind ever successful man their is usually a very hard working and supportive wife. In this case it certainly true as his wife Monique is very involved with all Matt's activities, Here Monique puts on the final touches of the Sandcastle for the Kids Fishing Derby by working on the logo for the port of San Diego.
