In an Annual Event, The Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis held Their 25th City Appreciation Day as Tribute to the Employees of the City of Imperial Beach at their July 21st Meeting at Boys & Girls Club. Besides a great lunch, there were gifts, prizes & more!

Chef Joaquin, the fantastic chef at the Boys & Girls Club prepared 97 lunches and fun was had by all. One of the city employees was overheard saying, "this is great, they never had anything like this at the other city I worked at".

Many Kiwanis brought gifts and gifts were provided by other local service organization and churches as well, including some gifts from other sources.

July 18th was the City of Imperial Beach's 59th Birthday so it was great timing to have the lunch and appreciation day for the City Employees.

The Kiwanis was established 100 years ago as a service organization and has a motto "Serving the Children of the World" and is primarily focused on children but helps out in so many other areas as well.

The Imperial Beach South Bay Kiwanis meets the first and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the IB Boys & Girls Club at 847 Encina Ave., CA 91932 from noon to 1:15pm. Anyone interested in becoming a member is invited to attend.
