To have the 4th of July Fireworks Show at the Imperial Beach Pier, $50,000 needed to be raised. The Port of San Diego contributed $25,000 towards the Fourth of July Fireworks Show and the remaining balance of $25,000 needed to come from donations. Last month Jim Knudson, Representative of  Imperial Beach Resorts offered to match up to $9,000 of donations toward the fireworks show and their check provided substantial help towards raising the $25,000 needed.

Another Successful Fourth of July Fireworks:

Thanks to the check from Imperial Beach Resorts and with the hard work of Tim O’Neil & Candy Unger of I Heart IB, Sha-Ron Cobb, of the IB Kiwanis, Jim Mickelson, Treasurer of the IB Chamber of Commerce and Christine LaPausky, Chairwoman of BID, and BID's generous contribution, the community of Imperial Beach got to enjoy a Fantastic  4th of July Fireworks Show!

Their teamwork and the job they all did should be applauded with a big “Thank you”! And let’s also thank the great community and business of Imperial Beach for all of their contributions to the effort!

For those who remember, the 4th of July Fireworks Show had been canceled and came back to life last year, 2014, through the efforts of Candy Unger and Tim O'Neil ( I HEART IB ) who started and led the project to raise the funds necessary for the 4th of July Fireworks Show. They were able to raise the needed funds start back up again with the help of local business and the Imperial Beach community
