Please Welcome the 2015 YCC Crew 

The US Fish and Wildlife Service's Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is now in full swing! The YCC program is an 8-week paid summer internship for high school students that works with federal, state, non-profit, and private entities throughout San Diego focusing on environmental education and conservation-related service projects. 

This year the YCC partnered with High Tech High, Chula Vista, and selected Austin, Sergio, Emilio, Rebeka, Alejandra, and Roxanna to make up the crew. Antonette Hrycyk, who recently completed a Masters Degree at University of Colorado - Boulder is the crew's supervisor. Antonette provides environmental education to the crew at every opportunity and ensures they have a safe and productive summer. Projects will include restoring native plant habitat in the Tijuana Slough and Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuges, assisting USGS with the biological monitoring of several bird species, assisting Earth Discovery Institute with a public trail project,t and several maintenance-related projects throughout the USFWS National Wildlife Refuges in San Diego.
