Supervisor Cox announced today at a meeting of the IB Kiwanis that the New 14,000 Square Foot IB Library will break Ground in November!

Supervisor Greg Cox announced today at a meeting of the IB Kiwanis Club that the New 14,000 Square Foot IB Library will break Ground in November of this year! To do that, they will begin demolition of the old library in October. Ironically, this October will mark the 100th anniversary of the Imperial Beach Branch Library which is part of the San Diego County Library System.

In October, the Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club will become the temporary home of the library when the old library begins being demolished.

The new State of the art, Imperial Beach Branch Library, is hoping to open in September of 2016. The New Community Center were the IB Women’s Club and other programs will use will be set inside the new library and be able to be used for library events when it’s not being used by other clubs or programs.
