By now, all Californians are aware of the drought conditions in our state, now into it's 4th year.  More than 80% of California is actually in "extreme drought" conditions.  Recently, the Mayor and Council were briefed on 2014, and new for 2015 water use conditions and prohibitions (click here for a summary).  Imperial Beach residents have cooperated in the past and we look forward to working together on this severe.  Common sense and regulations now warn us about avoiding any "runoff" from landscape watering; vehicle washing, sidewalk or driveway cleaning and fountains not recirculating.

California American Water has been sending customers notices with bills and other mailings.  And further information is available by calling CAW at
888-237-1333, or stop by their office at 1025 Palm Avenue; or online at www.amwater.com/caaw/  More detailed information concerning a wide range of restrictions for the state is also available at City Hall.

They may also be able to assist Imperial Beach residents with free water saving products and rebates:  low flow shower heads, sprinkler heads. and high efficiency toilets.  There are other devices that may be helpful to residential and business customers, so contact California American Water and do your part to get us through this water emergency.
