Imperial Beach/South Bay Kiwanis help staff phones at the Rady Children's Holiday of Miracles Radiothon on KyXy 96.5!

Dec 22, 2014 08:51PM ● By Paul Spear

Rady Children's held their 5th Annual Holiday of Miracles Radiothon on December 10th and 11th. They had live interviews with patients, families and staff that were sure to warm your heart. KyXy 96.5 Radio broadcast live from Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego's cafeteria. You had the chance to help make miracles happen for the kids in our community.

On Thursday, December 11th, Melanie Ellsworth, Gary Trieschman and Gary Brown
of the South Bay/Imperial Beach Kiwanis joined many other Kiwanis Club members throughout San Diego County to staff the phones at Rady Children's Hospital for its fundraising Radiothon.

The hospital is the region's largest hospital for children and is so well respected it has young patients from around the world. It was amazing to see the pinkie-sized diapers or even imagine the almost microscopic size of a heart valve for a prematurely born child, but Rady works for
children of all sizes and ages.

The Kiwanis' job was to call people or receive calls from people
wanting to make a donation.  Some of the callers had
had a child or grandchild in the hospital, and the hospital saved
the child's life.

Thanks to Ms. Ellsworth, Mr. Trieschman, Gary Brown and Kiwanis all over
San Diego County for helping children's health.
