Imperial Beach Closed to Water Activities for Foreseeable Future!

Dec 04, 2014 06:15AM ● Published by Paul Spear

Due to rain storms that started over the weekend and have continued through the week have Imperial Beach closed all the way south to the border. It has not helped that a extremely high tide has pushed this polluted water into the TJ Estuary and other low lying areas.

As a general rule, Imperial beach usually remains closed 3 days after the end of rain fall but you should always check with the Imperial Beach Lifeguards ((619) 423-8328) to be sure the water is safe before resuming water activities. The sewage comes from Tijuana Mexico that cannot handle the pollution because caused by their inability to handle the extra rain that comes down river d=from the rain storms.

When we get any updates and when it is safe to return to the water, we will let you know!
